Best use of $4k

Forged internals and heads. Then save for turbo. Or throw a super charger on it

Would use that as a down payment on a 5.0

The 3v's need alot of boost. And if you get the Paxton 1200 stock coyotes will be dragging your ***.

Build it and alot of boost us your best option

Just build the bottom end and boost the **** out of it. Thats why I said that's your best bet.

The Paxton 1200 is not intercooled, so it's really a waste.

I just checked the inter cooler upgrade for the 1200 costs 1700. So that is about 5700 in all when the 2200 costs 5200 and is inter cooled. That doesn't make much sense to me

See the 2200 is alot better option. The head unit is good for a 1000hp. So you won't need another head unit.

If it's just cuz you enjoy the fun and don't care about being competitive, buy a supercharger. If you wanna be faster than coyotes buy a coyote. Fully built and boosted 3v minimum of 10k to be really fast. I have the roush TVS. Cost about 5k. Made 450 RWHP. I may build it. I don't street race and haven't been to the strip lately. I just enjoy it for what it is. Usually the guy with the deepest pockets goes fastest.

Turbos are more complicated. Supper chargers are mostly bolt in and go. So it makes more sense for a SC if its just for ****s and giggles

Doesn't really matter how you make your power, unless you forge the internals your gonna be hanging out at 450ishRWHP. If you can do either for 4k it would be personal preference.

You know for 4k you could forge your engine and either save for a turbo or blower later, and spray the hell out of it in the mean time. Just a thought. Don't forget the supporting mods though. Fuel injectors fuel pump clutch tune etc etc

I agree with Raptinator, sell your 3V and put that $4k down on a Coyote. The cost of your 07 plus whatever you are going to spend forging the motor and boosting the snot out of it is going to equal more than a Coyote. This is why my heart is set on a 2011/2012 GT. I will not do anything to my 98 in the meantime except keep it in pristine shape and fix anything that needs fixing so when I get my Coyote I can get top dollar for it and buy a converter/axleback and On3 twin kit.

Much stronger. The 3v usually spews it's guts after about 450 rwhp. Forged, well, what's your budget after that? It will handle it.

$4K can get a nice bolt-on 3v GT - CAI, TB, IM, NSR cams, headers + midpipe, dyno tune, LCA's, UCA, shifter ... probably good for around 400 bhp, torque won't be anything special though.

If you're going for more power, save your $ for FI, forged rotating assembly, upgraded fuel system, (upgraded clutch?) and decent amount of suspension work - or - like others have said, buy a Coyote.

I haven't done research on what's the best (but you could prob buy some of the best from MMR's website) but manley seems to be popular, same with ARP hardware
