If you can find it the Mothers R3 (Race Rubber Remover) is great stuff. Spray it on, let it soak for a minute, and then wash off.

Some bug and tar remover should also help, use a microfiber towel.

Just sprey some "PAM" on the area and the rubber won't stick so much.

Unless you've got a strong ceramic coating on your paint, chances are you did mar it... Probably worse than you think.

Personally I would of wiped it off with car soap/water/microfiber mitt, clayed it, then dried with a microfiber towel.
