Insurance companies don't like to insure salvage title cars sometimes. Also banks don't like to lend on salvage title cars. In my opinion if it didn't have a salvaged title it would be worth considering. I would definitely not consider a salvage vehicle

Well you're not gonna get a new 5.0 for that much. If your dead set on a mustang 4.6 May be about all your gonna get. And not a terminator either. If you shop around a bit you can probably get a nicely modded ls1 for that kind of cash

If your getting it to keep for a very long time

Make an offer of $8,000 take it or leave it.
It looks good in the photo.
If it drives good and you are not thinking of getting anything else for at least five years just go ahead and buy it.
Enjoy it.
The 4.6 engine is a good one and the best sounding of anything out there.

No I got 12k in hand and im not planning on getting a loan for more.. I offered 9 but he wont do it. I also test drove it and it feels nice. Sounds nice also. But I want to know is it worth spending 12k on a 05-09 gt ? Any big issues with those cars ? Right now I have a 07 v6 had it sinse it had 37k miles right now its at 57 and ive only replaced the thermostat housing I know that was a big issue for these cars

If your budget is 12 k then yes its worth spending 12k on a 05-09 GT. There good cars but compared to the 5.0s have a lot less potential but it all depends what you want out of the car. The only downside is that as the 5.0's become less and less expensive the 05-09 GT's are going to become less and less in demand. But if your planning to enjoy the car for a while as of now its not a bad price for on.

And I think what people are saying is that there is a big difference between spending 12 k on a 05-09 GT and spending 12 K on one with a salvage title. Just having that label on it will generally make it worth 40-50% less then one with a clean title. And it sounds like the car you originally posted about the seller is wanting money for modifications done (the GT500 look a like parts). You can get slightly more for mods done to a car but the general consensus is that it doesn't add much value. So if he has a car worth 6-7 K and spent 6 K on parts that doesn't make the car worth 12 in the market. Might he get someone to pay it? It's possible but to your average educated car buyer its not going to happen.

Have you checked with your insurance company yet? Will they insure a car with a salvage title?

Is this car in California also? If not, what state? Will California let you title it, if it is from another state?

First off see why it was salvaged. Sometimes it could be because of the most stupidest things. They salvaged a old car I had cause it was scratched up by someone. No wrecks or anything. But that's a nice car

Keep in mind you're going to take a big hit when you go to sell it because of salvage title.

Its a beautiful car but the history is a no-go for sure. Anybody know what wheels are on it?
