I'd get rid of the rx8. That rotary engine, sadly, sucks up way too much fuel for its power output.

However,The rx8 is far more "exotic" and less likely to blend in than the mustang.

The mustang will probably last you a Lot longer. Rotary engines aren't exactly known for their longevity. But you know what they say: "Its got 99 problems but a head gasket ain't one".

It's really a toss up. Both are pretty cool cars but I'd have to say the mustang is your best bet thinking long term.

That's what I'm thinking to I all ready swapped out the engine once on the rx8. I do love that the rx8 handles the curves a lot better and it deff turns heads alot more around my areas.

You're on a Mustang forum full of people who love Mustangs and you ask this question?! I jest.

If you already own the RX8 .... why not make it an RX-V8?

There are plenty of LSx swap kits available for those.

I know a guy who did the whole swap a few years ago for less than $7,500. That includes buying an LS2 and T56, the swap parts, driveshaft, cam/heads/intake and tune. The car was making just over 400 whp and ran low 11's @ 122+ and got 30+ mpg on the highway.

Ive thought of putting an ls2 but tge only guy in town wont do for less then 11k and I'd not worth it to me.

The stang deff turns heads the second I touch that gas peddle. Its a completely different experience with both cars. ThAt's why its a hard one for me

So .... maybe $5,000 in parts and $6,000 in labor?

I would find a new guy.

An RX-V8, now there is an idea. Doesn't sound very cost effective though.

Yeah most will say Mustang here but RX-8 is a little more exotic. But the longevity of Mustangs well outmatches the RX-8

Mustang all the way. Hp torque. If you want to stand out that's when cosmetics hood scoops, hood, tail lights headlights, rims, things like that come to play
