if I want to add 4inch tips to my stock exhaust?

I love my stock exhaust and don't want to change a thing! But I would like to step up to 4 inch tips cus the stock ones look too small lol.

So it's all clamp on stuff right? I can just unclamp the stock tips and then get some flowmasters tips? I need to get 2.5" inlet 4" outlet tips, right?

How big are the stock tips? just wondering. It's amazing just a couple inches difference but it looks SO MUCH BETTER with 4" tips! And theoretically speaking, stepping up to 4" tips should get my sound a bit nicer too, right?

edit: ehh now im also a bit debating now bout getting bigger tips - lotta people telling me since my car isn't boosted or anything I would lose a lot of low end torque if I get bigger tips cus I would have less backpressure? :S

What year? Maybe have a look under the back bumper. Doubt if it's clamp-on.

The stock ones are welded on if they're the same style as on the V6. You could have them cut and new ones welded on. Not a hard job for a decent exhaust shop.

I personally think 4" is a bit too big. My new Borla ATAKS have 4.5" and it just looks cartoonish to me. I may swap mine to a 3.5 or so.

Changing a tip size will not affect your torque, or sound whatsoever. Ok maybe sound but it will not be significant

I had 4" tips with my Roush AB's and my current GTA's...I think it looks good since it fills in the rear bumper exhaust humps... Both of my AB tips were welded on so I'm not sure if they are cut and clamp. If you're interested in changing from stock exhaust, my GTA's are Shelby GT/GTH take offs which are slightly louder then stock with no drone.

Why would you keep the exhaust stock? Like i would kill for a v8 and the ability to open the exhaust up

i don't think i could be happier with my exhaust it sounds perfect to me. I have heard a few 5.0s with the gt500 axle backs and I really prefer mine. Tbh I haven't heard many 5.0s that I really liked the sound of mostly because they don't sound as deep and 'clean' to me as the 4.6.

That's the one thing the 4.6 has over the other engines. Slow as dirt, but a proper exhaust and a cam and they sound glorious.
