I get royal purple from Walmart. Last time I got some from there it was 30 bucks for the 4.9 liter jug. I bought 2 and just saved the rest for next time

I think that at $ 3.99 a quart my Super Tech Fully Synthetic oil does just fine. Royal Purple, I read its awesome oil and sure its the bomb but at $9.99 a quart it better come with a private pole dancer.

If a base IV synthetic oil is a must have for you then another option that's around $8 dollars quart is Mobil 1 extended performance. I have used the EP before but for how I operate my vehicle I just can't convince myself its worth the extra money. When using the EP Mobil 1 claims you can go 15k on oil change intervals. I change my oil and filter out every 7,500 miles so having oil that lasts 15k miles is a waste and no need for me.

I have RP in my car. Haven't noticed anything special.

I had great luck with royal purples "synchromax" trans fluid so I thought the oil would be worth trying but I'm not a race car driver so, meh. Mobil 1 synthetic works fine for me.

It's $7.86 at Wal-mart or $37 for 5 quart container. Still not cheap, but better than $9.99.

Yes royal purple is 37 dollars I was wrong. Mobile one is 25. I just looked online. Mobile was at 22 in spring I used it in both my 2011 and my 79 t/a. Either way it's still cheaper to buy it at Walmart then the auto part stores. I just wish Walmart sold performance parts for our cars!!

Totally agree, the thing with synthetic oils is they outlast a "regular" filter.
I use mobil 1 oil with mobil 1 filter and make oil changes every six months,I've been using it for a long time and couldn't be happier.

I have tried Royal Purple, Mobil 1 and the manufacturer's specified oil and I have no real preference. All the synthetics basically the same and work just fine.
