If you are asking because you want to put it in your car might as well not even ask lol. It ain't gonna happen unless you have super deep pockets.

A 5.8 GT500 motor costs around $25,000 or so.

If your goal is to achieve big hp numbers, I'd suggest you buy an aluminator (or a used 5.0 and get mmr's forged short/long block package) , twin turbo it and call it a day. You might end up saving good chunk of money as compared to going with 5.8 use this extra money towards modding your car to support 4 digit HP numbers.

Just my 0.2

5.8 is heavy also. A coyote Aluminator with a twin turbo set up will cost less than the GT500 motor and make a hell of a lot more power.

Probably around 4k for a used motor and around 6500-6700 for a new crate engine. Plus 1500 for controls pack, and you will also need a new driveshaft. Aluminator would cost you about 8500.

And as soccer said, an aluminator with twin turbo setup is going to make way more safe power than a 'stock' 5.8 motor with either a supercharger/twin turbo. Heck people have easily achieved 4 digit HP with an aluminator..something which is not practically feasible with a 5.8 without swapping out its internals.

Ps: I'm just tossing another coin out there, you don't have to like it if you don't want to lol. Check out chevy's LS3 376 crate engine (480hp/475 TQ or the 500+ hp version of it) if your plans is just to stay all motor and if you don't care what 'brand' is making power under your hood. It will cost you about 6700 for a crate engine, with all necessary electronics. However, I'm not entirely sure what else would be needed to make it work. You have to dig up info on it.
