Go fast goodies for 2010 gt?

Hey guys, posting up for a buddy who just picked up a 10gt. Got the car from a Toyota dealer for 16,700+ttl with 57k on the clock. Auto with leather, pwr heated seats, navigation and shaker audio and 19, premium wheels. Cars all stock. Seemed like a nice deal? Looking to get a couple go fast goodies for it. Looking to start with an X-pipe and mufflers. Been searching local Craigslist and wondering if the 05-09 exhaust parts such as axle back mufflers and X-pipe Will also fit the 10? We're assuming so but just want to make sure as most are advertised 05-09. Also wondering if these cars see a noticeable difference with a catless pipe vs with cats. Lastly we found a used k&n cai for $20 local. Comes with tube and cone... Seems really cheap... are they junk on these year cars or is seller just giving it away?

Here is the new ride..

One hardly sees many 10Gt models around or on the threads. A very odd year mustang for some reason. Lol

And 100 a month cheaper for the next 72 months is the only reason he bought it over the 11. Said 315 was good enough and he'd be right there with me and the camaros -_-

Lol oh well he likes the car his money that's what it comes down too I suppose

If it's an auto scrap gears and get a torque converter.

What brand and size is everyone having good results with? My a6 11 came with 373 and I'm changing them out. We were gonna throw my 373's in his 10 unless it's a waste on those cars. He doesn't wanna go 410 like I've noticed a lot of 05-10 guys going with on the a5 because of mpg. Cars a daily

Tune = huge improvement.
Skip the CAI. Stock CAI is good for 500+ hp.
Catless midpipe = yes, noticeable improvement, +2 mpg's for me as well. STUPID loud.
ALL 05-09 exhaust/mufflers will fit. Tips may be a little short on the 10 bumper though.

Tune was first mod. Immediately went to suspension afterwards. Just did O/R H. Cams are next. (If you can't see my signature I've got a 2010 auto GT. Mods in my MEVO garage.)

Thanks for the info. Seen a k&n cai on local Craigslist for $20. Worth it for that price? Going to do off road X-pipe this weekend. Sounds like next should be a tune.

W/o a tune I even wouldn't waste $20 on a CAI. Don't care what brand. It just won't do sh*t over the stock box. Really up to the owner. It's all eye-candy, some say they lost mpg's/power going from stock CAI (on 2010+) to aftermarket.

IMO the best one for the 2010s is the Steeda one. Think the JLT is the best on the 05-09 3v's (I had it on my 06).

What are the options on these cars for tuners who offer free tunes with the purchase of an sct x4 hand held? Good with autos...

Bama and Steeda offer free tunes for life. Bama is great, Steeda is a solid choice. MPT can work crazy magic with an automatic and they give you free 6 month revisions.

If your looking for free tunes for life I'm gonna have to say Bama. They are awesome. Some will disagree with me and say Bama is crap. I have been running Bama tunes for 4 years and not one issue.

Bama actually just got a new tuner they claim is legit. From the 2015 results, it seems that is true. The old head tuner apparently was an idiot who could barley do a canned tune to save his life and when he left there was some sort of big drama where he took a bunch of stuff with him etc... etc... don't know the whole story.

That's great! I have always loved bama but can't say about the previous tuner. I haven't had a new tune made in well over a year. It may be 11/2 since I had a new tune done.

I would for damn sure get an updated tune then. Problem with Bama is they don't do the AED/Lund/etc... process of sending you a baseline, have you do multiple pulls with instructions on the street and then send it all back for a finalized tune. This is why the other tuners are better IMO.

Personally I know how it works. I have Bama, Lund, and AED tunes for my coyote. I can help him out with the data logging process and all that but just want to know who knocks it out if the park on the 3v cars. Sounds like basically all the same who do with the coyote except maybe Bama is better now. How was the old tuner with the 3v? I know for the coyote platform the 2 different times I got tunes they were subpar in driveability and transmission calibration compared to the other 2 mentioned.

I got a hold of the 'new' Bama tunes for my 3v 4.6 last week and ran each of them for about 5-10 min on the street just going from A to B.

My first impressions were they do exactly what they are designed to do and appear to do it very well (street tune - daily driver, race tune - drag, etc.). Shifts were very firm and swift in my auto and throttle response is solid.

Are these 'new' tunes better than the old ones? I haven't run the older ones I have for my 3v in over a year but my gut tells me yes, they are.

The 3v is a whole different animal when it comes to tuning vs the coyote. Anyone who tunes can make a 3v tune. It's not how the coyotes are.
And the new bama tuner is alot better than the old one A LOT

Just watching a few of the older videos on AM where Mike was the tuner and the main guy they have do all the videos was talking to him, you could CLEARLY see Mike had no clue what he was talking about. "Yeah we are going to pull a little timing now that there is a 10% underdrive and 2.6" blower pulley on this GT500...". Lolz.

Oh I got one better than that. The reason I could not stand bama b4 was bc back when my car was stock, he sent me a nitrous tune. Well the nitrous tune was running lean on motor alone. Called him and told him what it was doing. His response " it's supposed to do that" needless to say I can be a big d!ck, well he found that out after he said that. Now there new tuner is different. I have something in the works with him and should have a thread on it one day.

The sad thing is how many ppl ran and are still running the old tunes... I'm really glad they finally got a tuner whose nose is not his Adam's Apple. Looking forward to seeing your thread on the new tuner.

I'm going to do a comparison from my tune by CTP and then from Adam at bama.
Adam has caught my attention alot lately with the coyotes.
It should be pretty interesting
