I get that one also, but I've always gotten that when I got the Long Tube Headers and Custom Tune on my Car, With the Headers and X-pipe, moved the O2 sensor around, so the sensor Read is slow. For that one, I just hit the Tuner to Erase it, it pops up every couple of weeks. My Tuner Mech told me it wasn't anything to really worry about, just an annoying message that pops up. But the P1000 is something New, just popped up a week ago.

Doesn't mean anything, just says the ECU hasn't had time to run all its tests.

OK "Galaxie64", but how long is that going to take? Why did it all of a sudden start? What the Hell should I do?

Did you unplug the battery recently?

It just means the systems checks haven't been preformed yet. go drive in the city for 20 minutes and then hit the highway for 20 minutes.

Done deal.

Now the City and HWY driving, I have done that. The unplugging of the Battery, I haven't done that. Do you think that will fix it?

No that's actually what causes the code. When you unplug the battery the computer gets reset and has to relearn things.

That's all the code is. It just means it hasn't completed its system checks yet. It's not a bad code at all. It doesn't throw the check engine light, it has no bearing on performance or mpg, and it doesn't effect the longevity of the car.

Just cruise around and enjoy the car. Come back in a week and the code will be gone.

Stock tune as far as you know?

I'm guessing since you're still concerned about this you're trying to pass emissions?

This code take anywhere from 20-500 miles to go away. Usually it takes closer to 20 for the readiness systems to activate but I've had it take longer depending on my driving.

If you still can't get the code to clear then you need to go to a mechanic with a expensive scan tool to tell you exactly which system isn't "ready" and go from there.

I'll see about the more miles to Clear, it hasn't Cleared. My SCT Tuner gives me Codes, but maybe I do need to see a Mech.

As far as "Passing Emissions", I'm in Florida, that is not a problem here.

Do you have a after market tune on the car, since you're using a SCT device to check the codes?

That is a common code to get on a tuned car.

Well like I've said. This code is very common with tuned vehicles, done by "mustang specialists" or not. It wouldn't hurt to check with your tuner.

The code doesn't mean much of anything in terms of performance, mpg, or longevity. Since you don't have to pass emissions in your state I wouldn't worry about it.
