Question Hot Rod Cams MPG?

I'm just curious of how many miles you get out of a full tank of your pony with cams, I have FRPP hotrod cams, FRPP intake and FRPP throttle body with a C&L racer intake and I usually get around 220 miles out of a full tank.

That's about what I get. If I do nothing but highway then it's pretty good but that never happens. I'm lucky if I get 15 mpg.

What brand fuel you use?, I've noticed chevron and shell give me better mpg in my supercharged 04 svt focus than any other brand so that's what I use on my pony.

Hot Rod Cams MPG?

I get 408 miles per tank (according to dash, on paper it's about 390)

The dash tells me I'm averaging 25-28 mpg and I even have the 3.55 gears from the factory and do almost only city driving.

The difference is probably that I live in a Des Moines suburb in Iowa so traffic isn't that bad. I rarely hit a red light on my commute. Also I shift at 10,20,30,40 as per the manual for best fuel economy. Or at least I try to... Shifting to 2nd at 10 mph is just asking cars behind you to get a little too close for comfort..

As for fuel I only use BP 87/91 depending on what tune I'm running. I don't know if that really matters much, however.

I'm completely stock dude. I can barely manage 210 miles to tank (dash reads about 15.4 avg mpg).

I also use Shell 93 every fill-up.

Excellent, that makes me feel better, don't know why I've been thinking my mpg is lower than normal.

I don't know what I would do if I only got 200 miles per tank. Seems awfully low.

That pencils out to be about 14 mpg, which is well below the EPA's estimates. You guys must have very heavy right feet.

Race tune with aggressive throttle = makes it much easier to burn gas
O/R mid-pipe = getting on it makes music to my ears

That is why my MPG is so low.

I do drive it a little bit aggressive and I do have a heavy right foot (guilty) I floor it when I can but that is the reason I bought the car for, I'm also using the race tune which is affecting mpg's, I'm going to try using the other tunes to see if my mpg's improve. Thanks for all your input.

Miles per tank mean nothing because you can't refill at the same exact level each time, unless of course you are running completely out of fuel every tank.

I get basically the same mileage with my '10 and HR cams and all other goodies that my Bullitt got with only a race tune. Both around 23mpg. and I didn't/don't drive like an old woman with either.

The computer takes your average mpg ( of the last tank, it would seem?)and multiplies it by the current amount of fuel, in gallons, and spits out your miles per tank.

Like I said, it's very accurate when penciled out on paper. I take my readings as soon as the gas light comes on, as to not change too many variables from tank to tank) only off by ~ 20 to 30 miles isn't too bad.
