MGW Shifter

I currently have a hurst competition plus short throw and I can't stand how loose the shifter is from left to right while in gear. I am considering buying an MGW shifter. Anyone have any experience with MGW? Notchiness is fine, I just want a shirt shifter that feels firm in gear. Any advice/opinions would be appreciated.

The shifter fits in the gear super firmly and also you can't get messed up with any shifts because it's perfect 30% shorter not 40% which I heard from my friend is super short and takes time to get use to. Haha. I recommend it(:

My buddy changed from a Hurst to a MGW in his 03 GT and I had the chance to drive it with both. The MGW was much more firm and felt much better. It's going to be my fist mod to my 02GT that I just got.

All, thank you for all of the help. Just to be clear, the MGW has no sway side to side when in gear?

It's been a while since I had the opportunity to drive with the MGW but I do not recall any side to side sway while in gear. At least nothing that I noticed.

MGW Shifter

Thank you for the replies everyone. I actually popped the MGW in last week and it is AWESOME. I attached a picture in case anyone wants to see what the weighted shift knob looks like installed. I am also selling my old Hurst short throw (started a new thread about it) if anyone is interested.Click image for larger version

How is it? I'm debuting on buying the MGW. Still on stock shifter. How was the install?

If you have access to a lift, the install is a snap. Took about two hours from start to finish. After using the stock Shifter, Hurst Shifter, and now MGW extensively, I wouldn't trade anything for the MGW. One warning though, it's a whole different animal from the feel of a stock Shifter. The ratio (while adjustable) is much shorter, the spacing between 1,3,5; or 2 and 4 is much tighter, and the springs in the MGW are very stiff so it takes some getting used to. But if that is what you're looking for, I say it's worth every penny.

I can say I absolutely love my MGW shifter in my 05 vert and install was very easy even w jack, jack stands.
Also, FYI the shifter is adjustable so u can change the firmness fairly easily. I started off w too stiff a setting so all I did was dial it back to exactly how I liked it. The machining on it is a work of art. Highley recommended and sry I am so late to this post as my car is in storage so I don't chk in that much.
