Tune related DTC or am I f*cked

Got a custom tune from my tuner to test and datalog and after about 50 miles I got a CEL, checked the code and got this:

P0732 Gear 2 Incorrect Ratio

At first it made sense. The shift points in my auto were a little odd, thought my tuner just made an error in the tune.

Then did research behind the code. I've got 38K on my car and pretty much been stock, I shouldn't be having any tranny issues/be rebuilding my tranny at this point.

CEL went away after next start up. Code remained though. Went back to old tune and shifts are firm and smooth, no slipping.

---

My question: tune related or mechanical problem?

Pretty sure it's your custom tune if the car rides good with the stock tune.

Update: Went back to and ran my old email tune for a week (brand A, brand B first gave me issues), no problems. Got a new tune today from brand B (revised version of my last one, coming along nicely) and got a CEL again. P0734/P0745 - more gear codes. So it's the tune... Still doesn't make sense though, codes are codes. Hadn't had any real mechanical issues.

... Then right when I was ab to head out for another drive trans got weird. Wouldn't shift to 4th. Got on it, could feel the trans slipping. Sh*t.

Hoping that's still tune-related, haha. Gonna do more testing and get back to my tuner tomorrow. Thought it wouldn't hurt to see if I could get any more input from you guys here.

2 Stangz -

Hey! I'm Sorry to hear that you're having issues! This is really on the strange side and when I've seen codes like this pop up it's typically in regards to a trans swap which is on the irregular side. The code being intermittent is strange and I think the Bama team can help you trouble shoot and figure out if it's mechanical or not. It could be something corrupting in the tune when loaded or something weird going on in the background of the file. The 2010 GT 5R55S trans the Bama team has been tuning for many years and they're pretty easy and repeatable.

There are parameters within the custom tune where you can input values for the gearing of your transmission and the Bama team doesn't modify those unless they need to. It's possible that there's a problem with these values in the software, it's also possible that it's mechanical. However, I wouldn't want to jump to any conclusion until the Bama team isolates it by running some tests using multiple tunes. I think there's something else going on, but I tracked down your info on my end (I have my ways!) and I'll see to it that a Tuning Specialist reaches out to you shortly to get you some help!

I appreciate you dropping in but I haven't ran my Bama tunes in weeks. Last time you said you'd hook me up with a specialist you never got back to me so I went with another new tuner.

I wouldn't be opposed to datalogging/working with Bama but that wouldn't be for a while. I'm already working with one tuner and if they can't figure it out I've got another tuner that wrote me a reliable email tune that just needs to be dialed in which would be my fallback plan.

Hey man as far as the servo bore issue 08 and I were talking about it was resolved in 2010 I believe. I'm not sure what would make it happen with a tune

Found this on the interwebs while searching for a trans rebuild cost, could be my issue (basically my tuner's issue...). P0745 references pressure control.

"Level 10 addresses a third issue regarding line pressure that is controlled by the electronic solenoid. According to Barrett, there are 30 (computer written) lines of programming for line pressure and transmission functions in tuning software like the SCT products he uses. He said not every tuner modifies the trans functions properly."

I'm tuned by the same person as you (don't want to reveal them just yet out of respect) and you drive a 3v 4.6 auto trans correct?
