SCT X4 Won't Connect To Computer

So I bought a SCT X4 a few months ago from American muscle and my tunes are good, but when I tried to load new tunes from Bama onto it, I discovered that it won't connect to a computer. I've tried multiple USB ports on three different computers and I'm following the directions given by SCT. Also my tuners software should be up to date. I've researched a little and found that others are having the same issue, but eventually find a USB port that works. Does anyone know of a solution?

Call sct and have them connect it. That's how I had to do mine. I had the same problem.

Hey Pony,

Sorry to hear that you are having issues connecting your tuner to your computer!

Do you know if you happen to be running Windows 8.1?

Unfortunately Windows 8.1 has an issue involving Bamas drivers for their devices. They developed special drivers for this situation and that should help.

Check this out- Windows 8.1 Driver Update.

I hope this helps and if you are still running into issues, feel free to give the Bama guys a call and I'm sure they can get you squared away.

Hey Pony,

No problem at all, that was almost a lucky guess on my part!

Hope it works out and feel free to reach out if you need anything else!

Its working now, thanks again for your help. Do you know if bama still does hybrid tunes, where they balance all three? If so how should I get one?

Hey Pony,

Awesome to hear that you got it working and I'm glad I could help!

In regards to the hybrid tunes: Bama is no longer offering the "hybrid" tune as their new V2 tunes are some of the best tunes to ever reach the mustang world. They have been hard at work perfecting them and have just recently been released to the public.

When is the last time you had a tune revision done?

If it has not been done in a while, shoot me over a PM and I'll make sure you get some new tunes sent over to you.

I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Nate,

Bamas new V2 tunes are absolutely great.

Although I would not necessarily consider them a hybrid tune, I can definitely see where you would think that because the performance tune is such a good mix of power and drive-ability.

The main reason that there is no 87 race tune is because in order to crank all the power possible out of your Mustang, you need to be running a higher octane fuel.

This tune adds timing, fuel, throttle sensitivity, etc to your Mustang which can only be achieved with a higher octane gas... preferably the highest octane available to you! Running an aggressive tune like this on a lower octane fuel is far from ideal and that is why Bama stresses the importance of a quality fuel.

Hope this helps and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

A few months ago. This is probably a silly question but are V2 tunes version 2? And do I have to request them?
