Air Bag Recall

Has anyone had this resolved? I have been on a waiting list for over a month. Called the dealer today and they said "Oh yeah, we have done one already. We will order parts and call you back." I was the first one in the list.

Long time no see Cy.

I had Dewey Ford here in Ankeny do the passenger side in my 05 - 3 weeks ago.

They said the driver side isn't being recalled and is safe, and they also said the airbags in my 09 are fine.

That's interesting. Ulrichs can't seem to get the parts. I should have taken it to Gabus but it's a hassle since its 45 minutes away. Hopefully it will be fixed next week. Btw we need to hook up this spring.

That is interesting.. I wonder if my driver side is really fine in the 05 or if they made a mistake.. This whole airbag thing is just a giant mess of you ask me lol.

We defiantly will. I haven't driven my mustang in what feels like forever, especially after this last snow :p I kind of took over my girlfriends FJ cruiser haha

I had mine out today. I drive it a couple times a week. I work from home a lot so she gets to sit.

I talked to the dealer today. They said any 05-06 GT and any 05-09 Mustang made at Flat Rock will need the Driver's Side air bag replaced. Just an FYI

You can call any Ford dealer near you and provide them with your VIN and they will inform you if you need to come in. I just took my 07 gt in today and they are supposed to be checking my drivers side air bag. They said they will test it and if it passes it will not be replaced so just because you get called in doesn't mean it is officially faulty. I will let you know the verdict when I pick the car up this evening.

I was told they are replacing all Airbags. They did not test mine. They replaced it. If you are registered at owner.ford.com it will show you the recalls on your Mustang. Or you can call the dealer.

Well I guess we will see what happens because that is what I was told this morning at Ford dealer. I wad KIND of surprised that it wouldn't be replaced automatically since there was a recall. But according to Ford they are recalling all and just replacing if needed. But I will update this evening after I pickup car.

Let me know. They told me they ordered the parts and replaced. If this is not the case I would like to know.

I'm about to pickup the car. Ford called me and told me they had replace the inflator for the air bags and had to sync up something else. I think it was with the seat belts like how they react when brakes applied. I will let you know what the 2nd thing was for sure if u real need to know.

I don't need to know. Just curious. Mine was only in the shop for an hour for the whole process.

Yeah it took half day. And the second thing was they recalibrated the RCM restraint control module.

Yeah went to take mine yesterday for a checkup and was told about this recall and just decided to leave it so they can fix the problem.
