Flowmaster 40s or Super 44s?

Ok. I currently have flowmaster super 10s. The highway drone makes my ears feel like they are bleeding other than that they sound GREAT. I have had "original 40s" on my car prior those did not drone bad at all.

So due to this kiler drone on the 10s, I am moving from the Super 10s to back to the 40s or I am debating going with the Super 44s. I would like to get a replay from someone who has used both the Original 40s and the 44s. Which is louder/ more aggressive? The Original 40s or the super 44s? Youtube has crap quality videos so I can not rely on that. Figured I would ask here.

Well I've had both on my 65 Chevy. Personally I like the super 44s better. They're a little bit quieter but they sound better than the 40 series. And the drone isn't as bad as the 40s.

Thanks for the heads up on that but I am trying to hear from someone who has had them on a S197 Mustang (07-10 GT) :/ They will sound totally diff on any other car.

Ok well I've installed super 44s (axelback) on a 2010 gt and it was barely louder outside of the car than factory mufflers. Then installed an x pipe didn't really help it, in terms of loudness. But the tone was a vast improvement over the stock mufflers, very very deep, throaty sound.

Yeah my guess is the Original 40s are MUCH louder than the 44s. I want to go with whatever is the loudest of the two. Exterior sound wise that is.

In flowmasters the lower the number the louder the muffler makes the car, most of the time.

Go to YouTube and check for sound clips. Also I would say the 40's.

I love how helpful this community is! Someone PMed me the answer. I may wind up going back to the 10s and suffering the drone per his advice.

Nothing will sound as good as the 10s. To be honest the 10s made me sound like the 00-04 2v motor. Which is an amazing sound. As I said the highway drone is very bad. If I want an epic sound like I had I may have to suffer the drone.

Here is what I sounded like with the 10s.

For some reason my drone went away with the shorty headers I installed on it. The 10s are for sure the loudest of those 3 and I loved them. It sure turned some heads!! I have videos in my Facebook but can't save them to use on here lol

You should hear what flowmasters sound like on a flat-6. I've never heard any car sound better. But in terms of aggressive, mean and deep sounding mufflers for a 3v, I'm perfectly happy with my Roush mufflers...

Did it get louder or did it just change the tone? If so how much louder? If you have a video of it WITH the headers on your FB PM me your FB details.

I would have 10s if I didn't daily my car. Also a lot of tracks have sound restrictions on track days.
