Auto to Manual Swap

I have a 2006 Mustang GT and it's an automatic. I want to put the stock 5 speed manual tranny in it from a manual 06 GT. Is this possible? If so, what will I need?

It's going to be a big headache to do, are you sure you really want to?

Just to forewarn you it will be expensive and very laborious. You'd be better off selling the car and buying a manual trans gt. That said this is some things you'll need...
A manual trans floor pan section, the auto section will need to be cut out
A manual trans driveshaft, it's a different length from the auto
A clutch kit
You'll most likely have to cut the firewall to install the new pedals
The computer will need to either be changed or converted to a manual trans system
There's a possibility that you'll need to change the flywheel but maybe not
I left some things out but this all I could think of off the top of my head...

A buddy of mine actually looked at this. Since he was not a mechanic, the cost was way to high, and he ended up trading the car in on a manual trans. Let us know what you decide!

Sell it and buy a manual.

You'll need:

-Manual trans DS setup
-Manual trans remote shifter linkages and a shifter
-Possible trans tunnel modifications
-Manual pedal assy
-Manual computer and either a tune or a PATS reflash
-Clutch/flywheel/hyd TOB setup
-Misc wiring stuffs

Like I said totally not worth it. Problem is selling a 3V for decent money is very hard these days. There is a GLUT of Mustang GTs for sale not to mention all the 2011+ V6s showing up for sale now and it being a much better/newer vehicle than the 3V.

I did the swap on my 93 fox body many years ago. Never again. It sounds like the fit issues are worse on an 05-10. The worst part was getting the peddles installed. It required pretty much a complete removal of the dash.
