06 Mustang GT One headlight dimmer than the other

Hey ladies and gents so I just bought my car and I'm noticing the driver side headlight is dimmer than the passenger side. I'm currently using stock bulbs and replaced them and still the same problem. Anyone else have this problem before. I'm gonna be changing them to 8000k hids will that fix it?

Have you checked the fuse? On a pervious vehicle of mine I had the same issue, one dim (almost not even visible) and one normal, and a fuse was the culprit.

If the fuse is fine and you have a volt meter I can walk you through the next steps of testing for either low voltage, high resistance, or a bad ground.

Happy hunting

If the fuse is ok, Take your vehicle to advance auto parts and run a loaded and unloaded test on the alternator and battery on their multimeter (it's free!) If you notice more lights are dim, usually your alternaternator can't hold a load, (meaning when the lights are on, a/c is on, radio is on and ect. While the car is turned on and running and excellerating) anything above 13 and less than 15 volts is excellent....But if the fuse is good and the alternator is good just replace the bulb and see where it goes from there could be a sign it's time to get a new one.

I'll try that I changed the bulbs once already and I got the matching pair but that didn't fix it. I've also read to check the ground wire for corrosion and clean it off with a wire brush. I'll try things today when I get home and see what happens

Yes sir. That is the order of steps I would take also.

The ground for the headlights is on the passenger side of the engine bay just left (if looking into the engine bay from outside the car) of the coolant reservoir, If I remember correctly.
