Trade 2011 v6 for 2009 gt cs?

So I'm thinking of trading in my 2011 v6 for 2009 gt cs. I love my v6 but been wanting a v8 for some time now. Don't both cars have 300 hp? Not sure about it.

The v6 has 305 the gt/cs is 300. It's really whatever you want to do. Personally, I'd take the gt/cs...

Get the v8, I've ran into so many fanboys of the 3.7 saying they will out run my 3v but always end up crushing there dreams

Trade 2011 v6 for 2009 gt cs?

As they sit the v6 has more potential, but if you forged the 4.6 it would have more potential...
The v6 isn't a high hp engine it's a torque monster. a fully built variant of both engines, I believe the 4.6 would be better...

I saw a white 09 GT/CS and I thought it looked great. Over an 11 V6 its a tough call, you'll definitely notice the difference in mpg. Take it for a test drive and see if you like it better

I think I'm gonna test drive, see how the drive feels. My 6 has 49k and the gt has 65k. They want 18k for it.

Ehhh 18k is a lot for an 09 GT. The CS just adds some apperance parts that you could get aftermarket. Its up to you

Trade 2011 v6 for 2009 gt cs?

There is no "best choice" it's whatever fits your needs best. In recent years there are several great options to have a great performing mustang. I love the sound of a v8 and actually always had a v8 car. Last year I was looking at cars and feel in love with the performance/ practicality that my 2014 v6 offers. Does it sound like a v8? No, but it doesn't sound bad either. And considering I drive17-20 k miles a year for work it made sense as the best choice for me considering on trips I never see less then 29 mpg and am usually in the 33-34 range. If I drove less or it was a second car i probable would have picked up a 4.6 or a coyote.

Although I would be hesitant about paying that much for that car. I would save a few grand more and get a coyote or keep looking and buy a 4.6 with lower miles for the 18k

There's a 2007 Roush that just got traded in my area. 55k miles, $18k. Buy that instead!

If you take care of it, the GT will have more potential down the road. No one wants an old sixer. If you plan on just using it as a daily driver the v6 might better fit your needs, and its a newer car so has less potential for something to go wrong.

So I went to check out the 09 gt cs ....and for now I'm just going to keep my 6er. If and when I do, it will have to be a 5.0

I traded my 3.7 v6 for the same thing. Many people have done the same thing.Do it! The v6 mustang does NOT hold their resale value anywhere near like a GT does. Period end of story. If you mod the GT it ups the value of it if you sell it privately. If you mod the v6 no one cares. The only AMERICAN MADE sports car that holds its resale value better than a mustang GT is a vette and of course the Shelbys/Cobras.

Get the GT hands down!
It will pay off in the long run when you resell the car.

If you get the GT Look into my exhaust setup.

That's not really the case. Sure if you look at a 2006 GT vs a 2006 v6 the GT will cost more but it should because it costs more new. Both cars depreciate the same if you base off original msrp. Right now it seems the prices of a 2011-2014 v6 are in the same range of a 2008-2010 GT. So if you can afford one you can afford the other one.

And I'm sorry but modifications do not add to the value of the car generally. If you have a GT worth 15000 and drop 3000 in mods for the most part you will never find someone to pay 18000 for it. That's not saying if you hold it long enough someone won't overpay for it but your average buyer isn't going to add mods to the value of the car.

Not the full value. NO. But at least half yes. I have done this with 3 GTs in the past. Bottom line? a mustang enthusiast will buy a modded GT and pay a little more for the mods than a V6. End of story.

Like I said it's completely subjective and depending on the extent of mods and what the buyer is looking for. A lot of enthusiasts want cars 100% stock so they can mod it to their likings and some prefer to buy already modded cars. Look at 03 Cobras for example. stock low mileage Cobras are selling for the same price as ones that have 10-15 grand in mods.

But at the end of the day there is no msrp on used cars and its worth only what someone is willing to pay for it. It's almost impossible to distinguish if a car sells for high retail or If it sold for 1000 more because it had a catback and intake on it.

I was test driving 05-10GTs and 11-14 V6s but found the 3.7L to be better for me. Driving around town was smooth and 305HP is fantastic. It is quiet when cruising but stepping on it turns into a whole different car, it's a much more modern engine and you can feel it. If you really want a V8, the Coyote is the best way to go. Also better on gas and much cheaper on insurance are huge pluses for the Cyclone as well. I personally wouldn't choose the 4.6 over the 3.7 as a daily driver.

This is all opinion I am glad I got rid of my 3.7 for the 4.6 (2010). Stock you will not notice much of a difference between the two; However if you tuned them both you would notice a massive difference. From that point on the more you mod the cars the bigger the difference you would see. Most people do not realize how toned down the 2010 and earlier GTs came from Ford. The 11+ V6 and GT came a lot more aggressive from Ford. So you notice more of a difference from as little as a tune on the 3v 4.6 vs the 3.7 V6 or 5.0. Bottom line you will get more out of the 2009 GT. Alos the CS is MUCH more car than your 2011 v6 IMO. With that said the 3.7 will save you a ton on gas and insurance yes. So its all about what you want.

It actually looks kind of cool. It's defiantly one of the nicer dealer decals I've seen.

Congrats on the new ride by the way. I'm very jealous

I live in Austin, but I bought the car in San Marcos. My brother works at Ford and got me his discount. It was priced at 35, I ended up getting it at 30

Great deal. Did you just trade your 2011 V6 in to the dealership or private sale?

He said he kept it. He's got a cruiser and a bruiser now.

Actually I shouldn't say that, the 3.7 isn't a slouch by any stretch lol. It's a angry little car.
