Roush Mufflers

Just got these and had them put on yesterday. I'm surprised at how quiet they are.

Mustang Axle Back Exhaust GT, Off-Road (2005-2009)

Anybody have any experience with these? Does the volume change over time? My headers and midpipe are stock. Just wondering what Roush did with the exhausts for the 05-09 model years. Has to be more than just axlebacks.

I bought my car with them. Ran them for about 2 years. They were definitely one of the loudest axle backs in short of doing deletes. The sound was awesome and loved the crackling down shifts, but the drone was horrible. Maybe they will get louder over time? I couldn't imagine driving a daily driver with anything louder.

I'm not kidding. These things aren't loud at all. My brother has a '13 5.0 and put a set on and they're exactly the sound I'm looking for. I order them (albeit for the 05-09 model years) and they sound COMPLETELY different. I understand that he's got a different engine, but I've read multiple posts that discuss how loud they are. Mine state that they are "Mustang GT Offroad Exhaust Kit". Is it possible that these are more "muffled" because it's expecting me to have an offroad mid-pipe and that's why it's so quiet with the stock catted h-pipe? Don't get me wrong, the tone is phenomenal, it sounds great. Just not the volume that I want.

I believe they are labeled off road because of the decibels. I ran them with the stock H pipe and stock headers/cats. I'm not sure what Roush did out of the factory, but these were not an option. I believe these were included with 427R package, but you had to install them after the purchase. I know I would scare the crap out of people when I stomped on the gas and would easily setoff car alarms. I purchased my car used with 22k miles on it...don't know how long they were on the car so I can't help with a possible break in period where they could get louder.

Hmm. I hope they do get louder. I have an o/r h-pipe but I took it off because it resonated so badly around 2000-2500 rpm. Did I read somewhere that these Roush mufflers are basically glass packs?
