Rear end noise?

Hey guys I just got an 07 gt 5 speed. When I'm in 3rd through 5th I can hear a whirring noise coming from somewhere transmission back. Anyone ever come across this before?

Is it in the transmission or the rear of the car?

I'm confident in what I can do with cars so what is it you think I'd need to do?

It is a common thing for the axle bearings to wear out on the 8.8 rear ends. Remove the axles and carefully inspect the bearings before you tear apart the differential.
