I'm going to assume you mean cold air intake, if so they are all pretty close in terms of performance. The best ones require a tune if you're willing to buy a tuner as well. Is your car currently tuned? If not your money would probably be better off spent there.

The BEST one is your factory cold air intake! The rest are hot air intakes and you need a tune in most cases because it's a larger size tube and not what your MAF is programmed for and then the result may be check engine lights.
Don't waste your money on an intake, all it will do is Intake your money!

Testing has shown increases of up to 38 HP and 30 ft lbs of Torque to the rear wheels!
The kit is supplied with a stainless steel air box with built-in velocity stack. It mounts in the factory location with the supplied rubber trim to seal it against the hood & fender to keep the hot air out . Our tests showed inlet temps a mere 5 degrees above ambient temperature. The Steeda Lifetime Filter can easily be cleaned and re-oiled, making maintenance a snap. All hardware required for installation is included in the kit.
Independent test results have proven gains of over 4 HP and 5 ft/lbs of Torque over the entire RPM range of the so called 'leading brands.'
Used by the top tuners in the industry.
"SCT has seen the highest horsepower and torque results while using Steeda's Cold Air Kit, over any other brand." - Chris Johnson, President of SCT Tuning

The no tune required CAI - Steeda Cold Air Intake and High Flow Inlet Tube Blue Hosing, No Tune Required! (05-09 GT) 555-3200 - Free Shipping!

You will see gains with just the CAI alone .. the power is in the combination of the tune & cai.

As said, the power is in the TUNE. "The CAI" is the gimmick money maker.
Small gains with just a CAI? How small? 1hp? -1hp?

I can assure you, it would be very difficult to create a demand for CAIs if they did nothing.

Yes, there are several videos out there showing no gains & there are videos out there showing gains.

We have done plenty of testing & we have seen gains of 8-12 RWHP compared with the 28+ of just a tune.

Don't take my word for it ... the customers with a CAI & a CAI w/ Tune can weigh in.

Best Regards,
TJ

The appeal is that they look cool under the hood to teenagers.
For me, I'd rather invest my money in this and expect more from it. Lol
There's many things on the market in all aspects of retail that are Best Sellers that are only Placebo.
Heck, it says right there, that I get 35HP! I Gotta go Vin Diesel just came over.

Looks like a good investment ... but the OP is looking for a CAI!

The OP asked a question about a CAI ... it is his purchase request ... I don't necessarily think he was trying to get talked out of one.

Thank you for your feedback.

Best Regards,

TJ

This is true, but I'd hate for OP to buy a cold air intake when tune would fit what he wants better. At the end of the day it's up to the OP to take our advice and then make an informed decision. If OP doesn't already have a tune and has the money for one I personally feel that is where his/her money is best spent.

It's OPs money and car but if it were mine and I lived in a state without ridiculous annual inspections I would spend the CAI money on a tune instead. They're About exactly the same price.
What is Steeda by the way? I vaguely recall that name in the early 90's.

Steeda stuff is quality. I'm not going to weigh in on the CAI since I don't have one. But I have had tons of and have a ton of STEEDA stuff and never had an issue. They also have amazing CUSTOMER service. TJ just got done helping me with sourcing some parts, and he didn't have to do it. Most companies would have said they couldn't sell just certain parts. I'm a STEEDA customer for life. Always have been, always will be.

I like steeda products, but I haven't tried their intake, I have a C&L racer intake wich comes with a 95mm maf and couldn't be happier, I also have a the ford racing throttle body with the intake manifold and hot rod cams, so all together work really nice.

Kind of a juvenile shot taken at a reputable company. TJ doesn't have to come to these forums and help people with mod questions - and most vendors don't.

I have Steeda's CAI and a SCT tuner that I purchased from AM. It's installed on a "07" GT. The difference was like night and day. In my opinion, the first mod a person should look into is a CAI w/tune. I also have Steeda's bumpsteer and balljoints set-up and they work great and the quality is A1.

You need to remember something gains from parts are only going to occur if your OEM parts are inefficient. You have a 2014, in 2011 ford redesigned the air box to where without a tune you won't see much gains. That doesn't mean every car is like that. The OP has a 2005 GT Which the factory airbox isn't all that great so there will be some gains going with a CAI. Will it add 30 Hp? Of course not but it will help some over stock.

Yes, they are similar ... just like a computer would be. You have 2 brands of computers that do the same/similar thing.

Essentially, we only write tunes for the SCT platform on the Mustang side.

i don't need an sct with a preloaded tune to use an CAI right?

i can just select it by myself on the SCT , theres an option for aftermarket air intake, and i could remove as well the speed limiter.

I'm kinda confused about your question, so sorry if this isn't the answer your looking for. Some CAI will require a tune for them and other will not. Typically the ones that require a tune yield better gains. I'm not sure if a general CAI tune will work for the CAI that require a tune.
