Questions about 2008 GT

New to the forum, bought my mid life crisis 2008 GT. The car seems to be stock except for the hurst shifter and the trufiber hood. So do I need to worry about rain entering the engine compartment through the heat extractors? Also I've read a lot about CIA'S on here.. Not sure what to do? It seems a waste to have a hood with air induction and the fresh air blowing on the stock black box.Click image for larger version

I have a Hurst shifter as well and love mine, that's definitely a good mod to have. Unfortunately I'm not sure about rain with your hood so I can't really help you much there, sorry. I'm not sure if your hood would actually help with performance, it will probably assist with cooling the car, but won't show a difference in power, even with a CAI. It's mostly an aesthetic mod. I would start off with a tuner instead of a CAI it will make a larger difference in power and gain your gas mileage, but will be a little more expensive. The car looks good, I really like that hood. Also welcome to the forum.

What tuner would you recommend?

That's a very large debate on the forum, I currently have an SCT X4 with BAMA tunes. The BAMA tunes are considered a canned tune, so they give you as basic tune that can be given to all mustang with your mods. However a canned tune isn't as good as a custom tune, which will get slightly better driveability and power. BAMA has a system in place that allows you to email them every time you modify your car and they will send you new tunes for free. I plan on modifying my car over the next few years, so this was a major selling point for me. For your situation I would definitely choose a canned tune, however which one is up to you. They are all very similar I would just use Google, do some research, and I'm sure that other people will chip in with their .02

I have an '08 GT/CS and the CAI along with the tunes I installed made a tremendous improvement. It was almost shocking. Additionally I installed the "Pypes" axle back exhaust system which also made a big difference.
