Turbo setup

So im looking at a GT45 kit, I know I hear a lot of people that have a lot of negative opinions on it but also a lot of people love it, and a few people made a point to as America does buy from china. so im looking at getting it here soon and has anybody installed this kit? what am I looking at if I just do it myself, and what other parts are not included that I would need to buy separate. I have a rebuilt 06 gt with forged internals capable of 650, straight piping with flowmaster mufflers, CAI, and the V2 tunes. Any input is appreciated!

I have no personal experience with kit, but your going to need A LOT more to get it working. If you have he knowledge and ability to piece the rest of the kit together then it might not be such a bad idea, but it's definitely going to need some extra work. I found a few complete kits but you would probably be better off buying the cheap kit and buying the good quality parts to complete it. When you look at reviews for the kit be sure to note the reasons that people don't like it. Sometimes with these cheap eBay kits people will just write them off as bad because they are build in China and are listed for a cheap price. Can you post a link to the specific kit as well?

Im looking at a few different kits but im not sure which one I should go with because most of them say different year mustangs and I am not sure if a lot of the parts in the kit will work for mine, some things such as the manifolds im not worried about because im just going to go from my straight piping instead but here is one of the kits

Have fun with the eBay kit... You'll find out the hard way like many many people before you.

Yeah but if you also look at it this way even people with expensive turbos run into problems and "find out the hard way" and if you do a little bit of research on this particular turbo they runs these turbos in cars in NHRA, its a 50% chance of it working and not working and that's going for all turbos in my opinion, its always going to be sketchy put something that has a ton of heat and tiny parts in it on a car anything could go wrong, and also im not going to boosting the hell out of it, the max ill most likely go is about 16

If your opinion is that turbos work 50% of the time and go bad 50% of the time... your opinion is wrong. ebay turbos are **** quality, badly made, balances are not correct and zero quality control. A good turbo will last a very long time and be very reliable, this is not it. Looks similar to a ssautochrome kit quite honestly.

If you are going to go with a cheaper turbo at LEAST get this one.

Also, what exactly does your "rebuild to 650" entail because that is pretty arbitrary. Like what parts were used, what makes it "capable to 650" etc...

My number 1 cyclinder started hitting my head so I had to get a rebuild and my crank was no good so instead of just going stock I upgraded everything to forged internals, ported and polished bottom and top end

---------- Post added at 09:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:24 PM ----------

i was going to buy the turbo and have it rebuilt and balanced

So spend $7200 on a motor and then cheap out on a piece of junk ebay turbo kit? Sounds like a good idea. Is the rest of the car already setup to handle 650?

edit: Also you don't port and polish the bottom end... you mean bore and stroke? What exactly was done and what parts were used?

He's made no mention of anything done to the car besides the motor he paid some guy $7200 to "forge and port and polish". Sounds like a guy I knew in tech school who paid $6k (back in 2001) for a basic 383 stroker and then put it in a rusted piece of **** 69 pickup and thought he was the fastest thing on the road. A bolt on fox hatch I had put about 3 bus lengths on that thing the first time he tried.
