Painting a chin spoiler--do I need to add flex agent?

I have a CDC chin spoiler that I am going to paint. I have read in the past, mid 2000's, about adding a flex agent for bumpers to avoid cracking in the paint. I got a quote and it increased the cost of the paint quite a bit. I understand that most automotive paints today already have flexibility in them due to all the plastic parts on cars now. Is anyone doing this today?

In my experience, anything that has the flex that a bumper does should have some type of flex additive in it. There are plenty of good flex additives out there right now and it comes down to personal preference. My preferred option is the QFP-44 from UreKem Paints. This is a full primer kit, but it works great and doesn't cost much at all (right now it's $41 for a quart kit).
