New owner of a 07 gt

Hi everyone, new to the website and just bought a 2007 gt. but I had a question when driving this car in 5th gear. Now is it normal for this mustang to kind of pick up slow when you hit the gas all the way? What part do I need to swap for this change?

Yes because you are in a high gear and low rpm. Just downshift and you will be good.

It doesn't matter how fast you are going it is all about rpm. Stock the car pulls pretty solid from 3k rpms up. Highway in 5th you are at maybe 2k. A downshift will put you a lot closer to the power band and let you accelerate better.

Cool thanks for the info. It's been along time since I've owned any car in manual so have to get back in the groove lol. Any recommendations on what to buy for hp? Nothing crazy, just a better drive

A tune for sure. Check out morepowertuning.com americanmuscle.com and steeda.com. I have both an mpt tune and Bama (anericanmuscle) tune and love it

Go with a tune. Almost everything you add for more hp on later will need a tune. Trust me its well worth it. I have a tune from Steeda and it made a huge difference.
