Best way to install lowering springs

I have an 07 GT vert, I have started buying the parts I need to install lowering springs. I have been looking at a lot of different videos and instructions for how to change them out. My question is whether using a floor jack under the A arm to release the tension on the spring to remove the strut and then pushing it back in using the floor jack again has some major risks or problems? I have seen a few videos where it looked like it worked OK, but I wasn't sure if the videos had been edited. The other method is to use spring compressors, I just don't want to spend $40-$50 for a one time use to buy them.

Very easy with the floor jack. If you aren't sure about it, don't buy the compressor rent it from a auto parts store.

Jack it up then put stands under your car. Never ever have the floor jack be the only thing holding the car up. Jack up, jack stands, remove floor jack, then do the work.
