Quarter window louvers!

Sooooo, I'm putting on some MMD quarter window louvers in the morning and I'm just wondering if I should just let my car sit and not drive after I put the louvers on or not? I just don't want to screw anything up with it. I'm sure it'll be fine to drive, but I just want to hear others opinions, thanks!

Yes, let it sit 24 hours so the 3m tape can cure and bond properly ...

Just hit it with a hair dryer or a heat gun to get the tape warmed up (after its on). Just apply pressure and it will be fine. It doesn't need to sit for 24 hours. As long as you prep it properly, use the prep pads ect it's fine right after.

They didn't put it on correctly then. I used to work at a body shop. We installed these type of parts all the time. It doesn't need 24 hours. Just a correct install

He did everything right prepped it any everything per American muscle instructions. I actually called them when I did these last year and they recommended leaving them for 24 hours before driving.

Not to be a dick, but I'm sure the person on the other end of that phone was thinking "what can I tell this guy so he doesn't ruin another pair".

No offense, I like AM, but just because some person who works there told you or "your friend" that doesn't make it gospel.

Double sided tape doesn't require time to "cure" as you said before. It's tape. It adheres, and once it does. It's done. It's on. If it's cold out, or there are other less than favorable conditions on top of not being prepped correctly...well you may have a problem. But I can't tell you how many times I've personally adhered something using proper technique and sent a customer on their way. No issues.

Will waiting this magical 24 hours to "cure" hurt anything? No. Is it necessary? No.

My 0.02 (drops mic)

Post a pic for all to see !

I'm debating between those and SHR flush mount louvers but I'm a little hesitant about the finality of taking the window out for the SHR's. I know you can always put window back....but still.

What's everyone's preference on MMD vs SHR ?

Shr flush mounts are hands down awesome compared to any stick on louver. Little bit more expensive but in my humble opinion there is nothing better.

I recently put on the Eleanor ones and let the tape sit over night. They came off about a week and a half later. I live in south texas so I feel like heat may have hindered the tape... I could be wrong though. Thoughts?

I'm not sure about the tape that is coming with them now but it used to be a 3m product that was not what I considered to be the best quality. I went to the local car parts store and bought a 3/8 double sided 3m tape that was much higher quality. I cut it to fit. It was well worth the time. After using the adhesive promoter and new tape, I saw no need to let it sit. Just apply good even pressure. I went back and did it a couple of times to ensure they were stuck well. Took the same approach with my side scoops, that take wind directly and they are all still in place. The mirror covers, I left the original 3m tape that came with the kit because it needed to fit snug to the shape of the mirrors.

The tape I used was like 10 bucks a roll. I promise it's well worth the investment.

Ubnbit is correct. If it does not come with 3m automotive or outdoor double sided tape your wasting your time. It's not cheap but it's the only double sided tape I trust.

I have the Eleanor window scoops. I like them, they were on it when I bought it. But I like the flush fit a lot and may switch eventually.
