So my next question is why were you reccomending them so hard on that other thread when the guy said he planned to get long tubes and an off road midpipe..

He said he just wanted the best Axel backs and those sound the best . He stated several posts later he wanted to change mid pipes.

Ok folks lets all remember sound is 100% subjective. There is no right or wrong, only what sounds good to you and sounds good to me and sounds good to everyone else.

I personally love my Flowmasters on my 2v, i don't think i would pick them for a 3v though. On the 3v i love Magnapacks. Look into those OP.

Flowmaster Outlaw Series

I put a flowmaster axle-back on my GT about two months ago. Sounds awesome without being ridiculously loud or obnoxious. If you do want something louder and what I would describe as "younger" sounding, pypebomb may be the way to go. If you live in an area with a lot of older people, those super loud sounds can lead to problems. If you care...

Axle back exhaust

^ Exactly what I said to start with. Pype Bombs have the sound he's looking for. But be warned of you modify anything else on the exhaust it's not going to sound good at all.

I run the pypebomb axle back as well right now. I like how it sounds but rest of exhaust is stock till I save up for some kook's headers and off-road xpipe.

Choosing the muffler with the right sound is a tough one. I currently run Borla Stingers (w/ Kooks long tubes, x-pipe / cat delete and love the sound. Originally purchase some FRPP KR mufflers and they sounded terrible w/ my no-cat setup - like a dump truck with a hole it it's muffler...so it only lasted 1hr on my car.

This might make it a little easier:
Sound clips: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...CA3461ACADAED4

I think these sound awesome: Ford Racing by Borla Touring Catback

I listened to tons of examples on Youtube before my purchase....and still made the KR mistake.

You tube does give a good idea but it's nothing like hearing it in person ... Vids doesn't do any justice

Axle back exhaust

That's why I'm searching, in my area, for a 3V with Roush extreme axlebacks, with the rest of the exhaust untouched. Just to get a general idea of what my car will sound like.

If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.

Agree... but it get's you a starting point and if you watch enough clips of the same setup it gets you a pretty accurate idea.
