You either buy aftermarket heated seats and install them and wire the heater controls into a good power source or you have an upholstery shop remove your upholstery, install some heater elements in the foam and put the upholstery back on.

I recently had them added to my 2015 Tundra. The dealer brought it to a a local shop that does their work. They work great only difference I noticed with aftermarket seats is the switch does not tunr off when you turn auto off, you have to turn the switch off are they will stay on. Only when the key is on of coarse but they keep coming back on until you turn the switch.. Took awhile to get used to this.

I'd take that truck back to the shop and demand they wire it up correctly into a switched power source that only goes hot when the ignition is on. Right now they've got it bugged in somewhere which is always hot and that's not really a good thing.

Easy to do yourself, if you are confident enough to find a switched source of power. eBay search for "heated seat kit" around $60USD from china. About an hour per seat to install elements.

I added heated seats to my 14 (seats are pretty similar) and you do need to remove the upholstery. I was already adding leather, so no sweat. It's not hard

Note to anyone, don't try this on a 98-down, the upholstery is glued to the seats.

Do the newer cars even use hog rings anymore or is it all plastic tabs and zippers?

Mostly clips and some Velcro but yes they do have hog rings in the center of the seats both top and bottom.

No zippers. Lol
