Unless you plan on doing all the bolt ons I would recommend spending the money on either axle backs or even part of it on LCAs for less wheel hop. TB is a great supporting for for others but not a whole lot with just an intake and tune.

If you can afford headers and an X pipe you will gain a good amount, and the sound will be amazing, even with stock mufflers.

Yeah they're not cheap, but as far as cheapest best power adders the intake and tune. And the LCAs will help a lot for around $90. But if you plan on doing the bolt ons later and have the money now a throttle body is good. Just you won't really notice much by itself. Throttle response is made a little better.

I wouldn't worry about the throttle body unless/until you decide to go with some form of FI. The stock TB is sufficient, and you won't notice any gains from swapping it out with just bolt-ons.

A tune with a new exhaust including some headers would make a nice difference.

What gears are you running? Changing the gears can make more of a performance difference than upping horsepower. I did a CAI, SCT tuner, Flowmaster Super 44 axle backs and put in 4.10s. Made all the difference in the world.

Its stock gears. Is it worth changing to 4.10? Will that help with getting of the line quicker?

Felt to me like a completely different car. Love it. Worth every penny and still rides great on the highway. 5 spd manual trans.

Swapping out the gears will definitely make the car drive differently and will get you off the line quicker. It will not, however, give you HP gains.

I assumed if woudnt give me hp, the car will just be in the powerband more so it can pull harder longer basically right? But will sacrifice some top speed but how often will i be doing 140 on the highway anyway? Maybe once or twice to say i did it but really no reason to.

loud pipes can probably give you better insight since he has 4.10s, but I'd assume you'd be riding at least 750 RPMs higher at 65 MPH.

I have heard that with an automatic transmission, many people prefer 4.10s to 3.73s. And the other way around for a manual transmission.

I'm not a great driver, but yes, you'll shave about .2 off your 1/4. It's more the pull that I like even though no hp is added. I feel like 5th now pulls like 3rd did with the 3.73s.

With the 4.10's and a manual 5 sp, my rpm at 60 mph is about 2300 and about 2600 at 70 mph. Both are really manageable and I have no trouble on long, sustained highway trips.

My naturally aspirated 3V build is done and I didn't even opt for a throttle body. I'd say skip it and just get a quality intake.

You don't lose any top speed with 4.10s wind resistance will keep you from reaching redline in 5th without fi
