How much rpm can a 2010 take

Like the title says what's the limit on safe rpm for a stock internal auto 2010 gt?

My redline is currently at 6500, but I've had it as high as 6800 and had no problems. Most guys will typically raise it to 6500 and set it there, it's a safe number and the engine doesn't really make enough power above 6500 to justify revving any higher. From what I've read the heads will start to have valve float at 7200 before the internals start to fail, so the engine internals aren't the limiting factor.

Like he said the car doesnt make enough power to justify going above 6500 so set it somewhere between 6-6500. No need to go any higher

well you want to shift 300-500 rpm above peak power so maybe....6700?

If your not sure, just look for flames and smoke coming out of your hood. Then look at the tach and you will know how far to run up the new engine.
