Opinions wanted on louvers

Well I'm not following, looks fine to me. But it's got the Cooper tires on it. It's on a little bit of a decline so that might be it.

Well the previous owner replaced the original tires before I bought it. The original tires were no longer in production (a very common issue with Roush), so it has the upgraded tires the current models use, but on an 18/275 set up.

Hm, well cams is on the to do list. Maybe that's what it was missing? This new axle backs will sound excellent with cams.

Quarter window louvers should've been stock, I hate how those cars look without them.

Rear louvers I like more in black than painted. They are easy to set on and get an idea if you actually like them or not.

All jokes aside, I'd like a 3V in my 03.

I think the fact he went from a badass termi to a 3v was the problem as far as sound was concerned

Ol' 4Vs sound pretty good. Definitely the engine I'd pick to piss people off in the stupid loud department.

Better than pretty good. Only other mustang that sounds decent is the 2v's.

I don't even like how the coyote sounds

The 2V is nice because you still get the OHC setup but still have a very lumpy cam sound if you want. Lots of older "muscle car" guys are very confused when someone with a 2V and a set of aftermarket cams pops the hood.

Also, besides the 4.6L being wide as hell and heavy (if you have the iron block) its a much better motor overall than the pushrod.

You really need to put the rear window one's on

I think it would look spectacular with the louvers on the rear window too.
Ronnie

I'll get them on my car someday, They would have already been on but I had to get a new roof put on my house.

Hm, it could work I think. I might try it later down the road. Just have to picture the louver blue. And the chrome gas cap cover isn't going on it, ever.

If you paint it blue it will look dumb. Leave it black.

Your right

That chrome pie plate needs to go.

The louvers will be fine painted the same as your car.
There is a red Mustang here in town that has the rear and side louvers painted the same race red as his car and it looks great

If he is at the cruise in tomorrow I'll get pictures for you.

Well next cosmetic mod will be the Carbon fiber dash. Next performance mod is brakes, or maybe pullie and tune. I need to redo the build list and line.

None of the rear window louvers I've seen were painted. I guess you would have to paint them if the sides are painted. Just me; I'm interested in seeing them painted and installed.

I agree about not using that chrome gas door!

The rear louver was sanded down to bare metal, primer and painted vista blue to match my car. It's in a box at my house. There's a picture of it on the first page of this thread.

Why on earth would you sand it down to bare metal? Then primer to paint? That's a waste. The black paint on them from the beginning would have been a fine primer base. Scuff and paint and you would have the same result.

If I can remember, I'll get the louver out and place it on the car. Get a picture of it, and try to get up on the forum. But it'll be later on down the road before it gets installed.
