Motor swap

So I've been thinking about looking into swapping a 351 Windsor in my 05, just kinda getting a feel for it I found one for a pretty good price, could pay a little extra and get trick flow heads with it. Any suggestions or opinions ?

Either that or I'm considering just buying a shortblock and doing a full build. Haven't quite made up my mind on anything

The hard part is going to be mating up your computerized car with a non computerized motor. It will be a wiring nightmare plus finding a bell housing to use your trans.

I've looked into doing this swap as well. A few people have done it with cars that they only take to the track, I don't know of anyone with a street car that has done the swap. Like stated earlier the dash will be one of your biggest difficulties. You might also run into issues with your A/C if you plan on keeping it. I have not been able to find a way to mount our TR-3650 to a 351, however you can fit a T-5 if you can find a way to link the shifter to the transmission. You will also need transmission mounts and a custom driveshaft if you go with a T-5. I believe someone makes a K-member that will mound to a s197 chassis and 351, which might be easier than making custom motor mounts. There are a couple other things you might have to modify, like the fuel system, to get the swap to work. There is also a DVD of someone who has successfully done the swap showing how he did everything.

Thank you that is a lot of help, I've decided to go a different route with the 3v motor and turbo it. And once that is all said and done , I'm going to buy a 95 cobra roller and swap the 351w into it and make that a track car and keep the 3v as a street car

I noticed your post about the On3 kit, boosted3v has the kit and seems to like it. The kit is quite a bit cheaper than any other turbo kit so it gets a lot of hate from people that have no personal experience with it. However you will loose a few inches of ground clearance with the kit. Good luck with building your car!

Thanks man and yeah I was gonna PM him in a little to see what all he had to do and I saw someone else who made a thread on it and they fixed the clearance problem so I'll have to figure everything out. But thanks man
