Stupid high flow cats

So I installed pypes high flow cats along with my x pipe maybe a year ago. The off-road x pipe by itself was way to loud to begin with so that's why I got the cats. Long story short, I had them welded in they've been fine until this week. I've been driving around and it sounds like a tin can with rocks in it if I give my car any amount of gas or acceleration. It's really annoying so when I investigated I found that my driver side cat is making all the noise. I can see the inside material is moving around and clanking. My question is, what can I do from here? Can I just get a screw driver and break it all up into pieces and floor it? (Have slp loudmouth straight pipes) or do I have spend more money on new cats..?

you have staight pipe exhaust and you added catalytic converters to suppress some of the noise? either way you may want to look into why your cat has failed already. if it broken inside, its either a defect, physically damaged on the road, or some gasoline is getting into your exhaust and igniting inside the hot catalytic converter.
but i would put some kinda higher flowing mufler on to change the sound vs cats. also i heard the high flow cats are not really any higher flowing anyway. just a gimmick.

Yes that's exactly what I did. I'm starting to think it may have just been a defective because the passenger side is just fine and sounds solid.

Update on cats: so pypes high flow cats were under warrenty so I was able to order a new one under the suspicion that my drivers side was bad. Had a shop cut it out of my exhaust and weld the new one in. Sure enough the old one was completely f'ed. You shake it, and it sounds like a tin can with a bunch of rocks in it. I will post pictures on here soon

I'd say kudos to Pypes for doing a great job with their warranty. There are times when a part becomes defective; it could have happened during the shipping, or during the install.

Good that it all turned out good.

Welcome to Pypes products. At least they warrantied it. For cats, get Magnaflows or don't even bother.
