JLT Series 3 CAI/ Bama tune

Hey guys, I recently moved from Chicago to Missouri about 4 months ago. I had no need for a car in Chicago, even though my first car when I was 16 was a 1999 35 anniversary v6, and I fell in love with the mustang brand. I recently purchased (With all of this new open road) a 08 GT California special with 65k and wanted to start the building process as i'm sure ill pick up another daily driver sometime down the road and store this one. After much review I made my first purchase and went with a JLT Series 3 Cold air intake and a Bama tuner. I was curious if anyone had this setup in their mustangs and how they felt about it. I am planning to do much more but this was the first step. Thank you for any feedback.

Don't have the jlt, but the roush cai and bama tune. It's a solid start and can't really go wrong with the jlt. I just purchased the jlt oil separator and was very happy with the quality. I would suggest data logging after you get the cai and tune installed to further dial in your car. Good luck.

JLT has a good rep. When I was looking I wasn't impressed that they were using a plastic baffle for the filter to sit in. I knew it'd hold up, but I wanted something more solid. So I ended up with Steeda's CAI. Same thing, just a metal baffle to set the filter into. Either way, you will love what the two will do for your ride.

Well, after about a 30 min install and a 5 min Bama tune the JLT series 3 CAI and tune was installed. I am happy with the performance and quality. I feel an improvement in throttle response and gas mileage. I'm tuned for the 93 octane performance at the moment. Ill leave the 93 octane race tune for the track.

JLT Series 3 CAI/ Bama tune

Congrats. Try the race tune if you want a little more power down low. I went to it this past year and love it especially since I have 3:31's.

Yeah, there gotta be more mods burning in you brain. Lots more money to be spent, ya know. I'm quite sure American Muscle would be more than happy to help you with more mods.

Going off the handle bars

haha. Truth. I need about 40 more posts for that discount I am thinking I might do headers, valve springs and E3 fuel injectors. After I will do exhaust, throttle body, handling mods, and then garage it. Right now its my daily driver and I enjoy that. Once I garage it I think is when I start going off the handle bars.

Hey guys,

So yesterday I decided to data log and see what my air intake temperature was. I am running a JLT Series 3 cold air intake and a 93 performance tune ( I have a 93 race tune I have yet to try out) from Bama alongside the x4 tuner. At 28 degrees Fahrenheit and going an average of 70mph I saw my air intake temp fluctuate from 26-30 degrees Fahrenheit. After the engine was plenty warm the idle air intake temp went from 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit. I am running a 07 GT/CS with 66k as a daily driver. I was curious if anyone has a method to keep the air intake temp low regardless of outside temp ? I haven't tested it in extremely hot temperatures ( I have a black car) but im sure it might run above ambient and I would like to always see it about 10-15 degrees cooler then ambient. Thank for the help guys.

I am going to dial in that race tune as soon as the snow makes its moves out of here.
