Hey, I found this about 2 hours away from where I live. It's got 88k miles, a 2006 GT Manual, and comes with an SCT tuner and an intake system.Click image for larger version

I wouldn't buy it. If it looks like that from the outside I can't imagine the maintenance of the engine woukd be any better. I think a cars appearance reflects its over all maintenance or lack of.

2006 Mustang GT

I'd be driving that thing to my house.
One thing I'd like to see is the picture of the damage from the wreck.

Every day is a joyride.

You don't get a rebuilt title for a fender bender, it had to be totaled and then rebuilt. You might want to look past the rose colored glasses for more damage evidence.

Front clip has been replaced as well. You can see the blue paint in the close up pic of the front.

she said that it had an oil change every 3k miles, hardly used anymore because she doesn't need it, and just looking to get rid of it

I'd probably only get to do that if I bought it, since they live 2 hours away. by then it would be too late I'm afraid

I wouldn't buy it, you can see the right side of the exhaust needs a new hanger or is bent, all the dings, dents, and missing paint is just a clear indication this person didn't care for the car the way it should've been.

I feel like the price reflects the title and overall condition. I would just ask yourself if you are definitely keeping the car for a while because generally cars with rebuilt titles are hard to sell.

Also its a fairly big purchase I would definitely try and find a shop local to her and pay 50-75 dollars to have it looked at or take a friend that is knowledgeable on cars. Depending on when the car was hit it is likely that the damage was minor. At least in my area body work, replacement parts, etc has gotten expensive.

she is sending me pictures of the engine bay later on today, and I would probably be keeping it in the garage for the most part, and only drive it spring and summer, and working on it as a project car. I'd probably be keeping it for a couple years.

Sounds to me that no matter what any of us say your mind is made up to buy the car.

Why does it have a V6 "gas cap" badge on the trunk?

So with the front fascia replacement based on color comment earlier, and apparently rear fascia work, wouldn't that say to look very carefully before buying?

definitely not, I know there are other cars out there just waiting to be picked up. my concern is with the rebuilt title more than the damages due to the car, as those can be fixed. I would want full coverage, and I believe rebuilt titled cars can only get Liability, right?

it would, yes. I asked her about the front bumper having a blue paint under the silver, she said when it was rear ended, it was pushed forward and bumped into another car. not sure if that's true, but that's what she said it was repainted for.

Instead of having concerns and spending the money to repair the car why don't you just look for a clean car with a clear title. Done and done....move on.

I found a 2006 With 112k miles, all the work done to it, oil changes on the regular, GT front bumper, fogs and grille, with a clean title. Only thing is, that it's a V6 and he's asking $6000. Thoughts and opinions everybody?

I'd do the same thing. waiting to hear back from another person about a 2007 Mustang GT with 60k miles for $4500. probably too good to be true, but we'll see. I'll keep you guys posted about what happens on either car.

2006 Mustang GT

That V6 is the one to be focused on. A GT with that low of mileage for that price; something is seriously wrong with it. I bought my GT with 49.5k miles for $13.5k. Just something to go by.
Plus I like that the V6 is a manual.

Every day is a joyride.

I like that too, manuals are the best. that was my only concern with the GT because i like manuals. but on the other hand, 250+ hp on the GT lol. GT's do have a lot more customization than V6, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for either one honestly.
