Exhaust drone

I have a 2006 gt with American thunder axle backs. I like the sound but I want alittle more volume without breaking the bank. I'm looking at getting an off-road h pipe and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this set up and wether or not the drone would be tolerable. Basically I want louder with no highway drone! Thanks in advance

Thanks I googled J pipes and they seem to work, if the drone is bad I'll look at going that route

Your response had less than 0 to do with the question though.

Except for the fact that he was asking about exhaust and I replied with an exhaust related response droning, obnoxious or just loud it's the same thing. Maybe you could start another topic so everyone can hear and see what kind of exhaust to get that way we don't have any single line responses to cloud the topic

Exhaust drone

O.K. Back on track. See if you like the results of the off-road H. If not then try Plan B, J pipe. If that doesn't work then we'll try something else.

24 Inch quarter wave tubes worked great to eliminate drone from my Pype Bombs and the sound now is simply amazing. 2 1/2 pipes and bends. Under $ 50.00 in cost (son-in-law welded them).

Lenko that looks slick, did you loose any volume with that setup?

I don't think I lost any at full throttle, but at cruise and light throttle there's a distinct pleasing growl. It's definitely not a blap, blap sound like some are. Before these quarter waves there was a teeth rattling drone at around 2000 rpm which is now amazingly gone. First thing I do when take off is lower the window (even a little) just so I constantly hear the growl. Very pleased with them as they took relatively cheap pype bombs making them sound like a much more expensive exhaust system. Get lots of compliments.

Well I got my offroad h-pipe installed the other day, and to my surprise (and relief) there is no drone! I was prepared for the worst after reading around the web but am happy with the outcome.
I have noticed more exhaust "smoke" for lack of a better word, even when warm at idle there is still a noticeable amount of white smoke coming out the mufflers. I'm hoping that it's just something to do with the new pipes and will diminish with time

Positive it's white. It's around 0 degrees out as well. Could also be because the offroad pipe removes the cats
