Brake pads and rotors

Ok so I did a search before posted this but here goes:

My '06 GT has 15,000 miles on it and as the second owner I am looking to change the brakes and have $300 to invest in this.

Motorcraft parts seem good, probably don't need to cut the rotors maybe just hit them with a 3M scruffy pad.

On the web I see two different grades of Motorcraft front pads BR1081 and BRF1405. Have only seen the standard BR1082 rears though. Any real difference in the two fronts?

Any other suggestions on other pad manufacturers?
