I have recently purchased a 2009 Mustang
GT. Its a beauty and has been beautifully taken care of. However, I have one dilemma; I purchased the car with small modifications (intake/exhaust). It also came with a BAMA/SCT tuner. The dealer (small family dealer) said that he is sure that particular tuner is for my car. (it has already been tuned)
What I am asking is how can I know my tuner is for my car? I already checked the device info and saw it has "custom tunes" loaded in it. The tunes are for the octane ratings (87, 89, and 93) However, there are no indications that it is for my specific car. The last thing I want to do is load in the 93 tune and damage something.
The device says it was purchased and loaded by SCT.
If there is any more information I can add to help in answering this question, let me know.... the device says there are still 5 unlocking attempts available, and there is nothing under device information that says "married or unmarried".
I have already searched, but everyone I have found says "I bought a used tuner, how to make it work for my car"... Should I follow the same steps and buy more tunes for my car?
