2008 GT new ownership
Hey guys I always had sn95 body style mustangs and I just recently traded in my 04 for a 2008 Mustang GT 5 speed. Anything I should be worried about this year model? The car drives fantastic! No idea what my first mod will be. The car is 100 percent bone stock.

Nice! And congrats! Post pics if u can. The first thing I did to mine was a tune and gears. The tune really helps these cars.
Also, one thing to check would be the spark plugs. The later 08's are fine but the earlier ones with the black coil boot plugs have the bad 2 piece plug design that can break in the head upon removing them. I think the later 08's w the brown coil boot plugs are fine(1 piece)
Other than that these cars (S-197) are great! (Best looking years IMO) Enjoy!

Congratulations. Let's see the 3V!
Had the pinion seal go bad in both of my 3Vs.

Here she is boys. Next to my old yellow. Haven't had time to take some actual photos yet. I'm looking into the borla stinger axle backs right now.

I know the new edge 18 inch wheels made it look good. Do the sn97 go well with 18s or can I step it up to 20s?

Personally, I wouldn't go higher than 18.

Do the 3v act on mods better than the 2v or about the same?

Better. Full bolt on 3V is close to a stock Coyote. Gears, headers, and cams will really wake that engine up.

Yup, the only downfall on this interior is the door panel starting to come off. I was looking at the ones on AM, are they any good? Also I was looking at the Raxiom GPS unit. Is that worth getting or should I stick with going with a Pioneer touch screen?
Edited: How do I tell what gears I have stock? I didn't see a tag on the Diff.

Congrats, she looks great. I have always been a huge fan of these body styles. I actually like the wheels thats on it. I just recently installed the Raxiom unit in my 07 and am really impressed with it. There have been a few issues with the unit however. I did have an issue with mine not powering on after two weeks, but a phone call to tech support got me squared away. It was a simple fix. It really updates the car with the newer technology and looks completely stock like it came with car. Have fun and enjoy your new ride.

Might give Ford a call tomorrow with the vin. They can tell you what's in the rear.

Well I have 3.55. That wasn't stock for the 08, correct? I checked the Axle Code and mine came up CD. Was 3.55 an option?
Edited: Also, what do y'all think of "FORD RACING CUT AND CLAMP X-PIPE". I already ordered Borla S Type Axleback and I want to get a x pipe. I don't see any bad reviews on it. Thinking about getting it.

It's stock. Both of mine have 3.55. Plus my window sticker doesn't show 3.55 as optional.

My 07 GTCS came with 3:31 which I quickly upgraded to 3:73's. Everyone has been right on point with the issues of this car, paneling, gears (for those that have 3:31's) and plugs. My plugs we're just changed out a week ago and 3 broke in half so make sure you research the proper removal of the plugs and use anti seize for the next set.

Yeah, I'm a bit scared to change out the plugs. What plugs do y'all recommend? I used autolite in my 2v and had no problems with them. Also what oil would y'all recommend using? I have no idea what the previous owner has been putting in. I was thinking Rotella t6 5w40. Just because I used that in my 2v. I live out in Texas where it's almost 100 degrees each day. I'm probably thinking about just using 5w20. Not sure yet.

Did you check if your 08 has the brown coil pack boots yet? If so should be no prob.
I recently changed from motorcraft semi synthetic 5-20 to royal purple 5-20 and love it! Use a high quality filter as well. Do a search as there is a lot of posts on oil and filters. Stick w 5-20 I believe.....

Using Mobil 1 extended performance and Amsoil signature series with Wix oil filters in my two.
Still on original plugs, that will change soon.

I checked this afternoon and you said the boots should be Brown, correct? If so then yes they are brown. I shouldn't have a problem running 5w20 Mobil Oil extended performance at 93k miles? Don't want to start leaking. Thought about just sticking with Motorcraft 5w20 and motorcraft oil filter of course. Also, I noticed this car has SiriusXM. But with a fault. Every time I try to use SAT Radio it shows up SAT FAULT and goes back to FM Radio. Is there a way to fix this?

Rear Axel Ratio
Driver's side door jam sticker. Axle code CD is for 3.55 and CG is for 3.31.
The 08 looks Good. Good Luck.

I'm glad I have 3.55. Plan to get 4.10s in the future. For now I just ordered Borla S type axlebacks. Was going to get upr off road x pipe but need a tune to turn off the check engine light. There's no mil eliminators for the sn97?
