MGW shifter

I am about to pull the trigger on a MGW short throw shifter. Anything I should know before I buy? Is this the best shifter for my 05 GT? is it hard to self install? (It was between this and the Barton btw....)
Thx for any info!👍🏻

You won't be disappointed. Install is simple if you watch the MGW install video.

I used to always get the steeda tri-ax. I have the MGW race spec on my '14 and absolutely love it. Also MGW answers the phone and will almost walk you through everything. They have great customer service and are all around a great company.

The Final Results

Installed the MGW on Tuesday as planned! Took 2 hrs with a lift. Only hang up was getting the old shifter out because of a tab that held the read bracket was a mm to long. Throw is set at 5 and is super short! I couldn't imagine going any shorter than 5 honestly but, some do it. First few drives were very notchy but, it has loosen up since and has made my driving experience much more pleasurable. There is a learning curve with this shirt shifter since 4th gear is where 2nd use to be For anyone thinking about getting the MGW short shifter for their S197 pull the trigger you wont be dissapointed!

I set mine initially to 5 then after awhile of driving I wanted it to be a little less notchy so I set it back to 3. Such an awesome shifter and one that you can adjust and readjust so easily. One of my favorite mods so far!

Yea I was regretting setting it at 5 at first.. I was fighting with the gates on top of the learning curve. It is a awesome mode for sure! I am happy to be apart of the MGW club now!
