Auto 06 GT, swapping gears to 3.55?

Has 3.21(?) in it stock, how will swapping to 3.55's change performance?

I think you might have the 3.23's, so the % difference between the two gear sets is a little less than 10%................so you will:

Accelerate 10% harder.
Run 10% more rpm's on the highway.
Get 10% less mpg.

I have the 3.55's in my 2015 GT, and they are GREAT gears. Lots of POP off the line, yet not too many rpm's on the highway.
There will be those here who say go higher numerically -- but I would not agree with that for the A6. First and second gear are pretty low already and going to 3.73's or 4.10's makes them almost useless.

yup my bad, 3.23's but I would guess w/ it being a 5 speed auto, 5th would still be fine on highway?

Hmmmmmmm..............Not sure about all of the gear ratios in the A5 compared to the A6. The A6 has a REALLY short 1st gear -- probably shorter than yours. But your 5th is still an OD that is probably close to 6th in the A6.....

Not worth the cost unless you bump to 3:73's IMO. Like Guard said, everyone will have their opinion but in the 3 stangs I've owned, I have honestly had just about every size gear and 3:73's are personally my favorite.

You have 331 and moving to 355 isn't much of a change. Going to 373s or 410s will make you smile and make your bum come happy.

Yeah, I agree. I went from 3.55 to 3.73 in my manual since I was upgrading the rear diff anyway and I did not feel much of a difference. I would recommend at least 3.73 if you want a difference that you can really feel. 3.73 is, in my opinion, not too steep for a DD.

I agree with everything "lenko" said. My Original Gears were 3.31 and I moved to 4.10's.
