Cleaned TB/MAF, now idle issues

I apologize if this has been answered somewhere already... Most of my searching found issues involving forced induction.

Disclosure: I have had a P0430 code on bank 2 since I got this car less than 1000 mi ago - just haven't got it in to fix.

2006 GT w/ 4.6 3V, 5-spd. Since the car is still new to me and has 67k+ miles I thought I'd clean the TB and MAF sensors. Between slow shifts it always felt like the engine didn't respond very quick when I'd lift my foot from the accelerator. So I removed the TB but was careful not to move the butterflies, only scrubbing around them lightly with an old toothbrush and appropriate CRC cleaner. (It wasn't that dirty, but did have some grime.) Ditto the MAF - I just slipped it out, sprayed it down with CRC MAF cleaner.

Now the throttle feels must smoother and responsive, but at startup it idles around 2k for a few moments, then settles to 1500, then around 1k. It won't idle 'down' to below 1k until I'm at a full stop. Did I ruin my MAF? Does it need time to "re-learn"? Do I need to perform some kind of calibration? Is it compounded by the existing code? (Should I just take it to my trusted mechanic and stop pretending to be one myself?)
Thanks for any suggestions or help. I am really enjoying this car otherwise!

If you haven't already, the ecu some time to re-calibrate. If this doesn't work, my educated guess is that you may have damaged the MAF. Give it time to correct itself though.

Update: Before I went to bed Sunday I removed the negative battery cable...meanwhile all of a sudden it's Wednesday and I start it up, and everything seems to be back to normal, although I swear the throttle "feels" better after the TB cleaning. I know this is a very simple/insignificant thing, but thanks again to Kevin.

Haha, if only all issues could be fixed by waiting around and doing nothing

Don't know why I would do that. My 05 5 speed was hard to shift when ac was on and always idle low at 500 rpms. I cleaned both and my idle went to 750rpm and it shifts better. Did you clean the inside of the tb too?
