Air Filter dumb question - Mustang Evolution

Air Filter dumb question

I have a 2005 mustang gt, with a JLT cai and the original air filter that came(Jlt cai) with it is needing a replacement, can i use a K&n air filter with it, or what do ya recommend?

whatever your local parts monger has (except the cheapo off brand) that fits. I have a good relationship with my guy. It is worth it to me to go to a smaller local place rather than the big box one.

I'd stick with a dry paper element. Not the oiled k&n filter.

I won't disagree. When my K&N wears out I will go with a paper filter. They breathe the same.

JLT uses S&B filters. You can order replacements from their site.

S&B RED OIL POWERSTACK AIR FILTER

They make blue colored versions, but they cost $5 more for whatever reason lol.

I have K&N filters in my 05 both engine and cabin air it made a big difference in mine with the 4.0L V6.

Oiled helps a lot in dry and dusty climates. If you're dry and dusty a quality oiled filter is a good choice, but paper will work if dust isn't an issue.
