66 Mustang taillight wiring problem

Today i received a sequential tailligt kit and after I plugged in the flasher I went to make sure my blinkers were working correctly. I still had regular bulbs in and when I turned on the left blinker it worked fine but when I turned on the right blinker the license plate light started blinking and the left taillight started blinking but the right one didn't. I was thinking there might be a short in the line but wanted to find out for sure before i started pulling things apart. Also wondering if it could be a light switch behind the gauges. If anyone has any suggestions please help.

Re: 66 Mustang taillight wiring problem

Probably either a short or you have some connections crossed, most likely for the one malfunctioning.

Turns out it wasn't a short. I tracked it down today and it turned out the taillight bucket just wasn't grounding out very well.

Yup, that could have done it.
