1968 mustang gt 390 value

I found a 68 fastback gt 390 down the road from me and was wondering how much it would b worth to pay for it. The car is pretty much a rolling shell all glass looks good. the shell it self looks like its in good shape besides needing floor pans. No interior that I know of. Not sure what trans and dont think he has the original motor and trans but not sure. It doesnt have front fenders grille or hood. So i was wondering what would b a fare price for it? also around how much more if he had original trans and motor? thank yall.

If you get it, are you going to restore it yourself or have someone do it?
If you're going to have it done professionaly, you may want to have the guy doing it come look at the car...have him give you an honest opinion of the work expected, and how much he might think it'd cost to get done, and a what he thinks the car's worth.

I had a friend who did this with his body guy. They were pretty good friends so he knew he'd give him honest answers.

As far as price, it'd be easier to see some pictures...there are so many factors to consider when looking at an old car like that, I also wouldn't know where to start negotiating.

make sure you realize when it comes to restoring a car, if its done right, it will cost far more than you expected and take far longer than you hoped.

^+1 Agreed. This happens when you see cars up for sale that are 80% restored and are well below what the guy put into it. They get in over their head and have to take the loss. You probably don't want to be in that situation.

If you want something that you can drive right away and around on the weekends then yes...I'd keep looking.
