The project

I am new to this forum, but I have been into Mustangs since birth. I have owned 3- Fox bodies, 2- SN-95's, and my favorite is my 68 Coupe. I currently own a 95 s/c steeda and the 68 I started a ground up restoration. The only things on the car are brakes, wheels, and the steering wheel. Here is a link to pics of the progress to date. FTGT101 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting I did not take a pic before I started (not thinking) I bought a GT-40 crate engine to go into it. I am replacing both floor pans and tank support. I am trying to decide which suspension to do MustangII or just keep the stock with better springs, sway bars, replace the old with all new. I am half way considering the Cobra IRS for the rear. I just do not want this to wind up being a 9 month project. I think I can have her done in 2 months give or take for the small details. I am probably going to go with EFI for the retro look. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Re: The project

I have a 66 coupe that I plan to do EFI as well.Except I have a built 351 going in.It will most likely have the Mustang 2 style suspension in it for underhood room.

I had a 351 I just sold, I just preferred the 5.0 for the room. Ikeep having the one thought about the stock suspension. Carrol Shelby did win some Championships on the exact same set up as our cars with some minor tweeking and the Monte bar and export brace. kinda makes me want to stick with it.

Very true.My reasons are more for the added room and I think it looks cleaner without the shock towers.

I am trying to keep it more stock than modified, but somethings are hard to turn away from. Especially when my wife is pointing out Shelby hoods and valances and saying you need that. You gotta love em

I see you got the fox in the 12's. With a bad clutch I launched the Steeda to 11.2 @ 123mph at Rockingham last summer. I have kinda gotten tired of all the B.S. with it though. Thats what has turned me back to getting my 68 into new condition.

I've been into the 12's since 99.I have yet to run it since I added an S trim.Based on my rwhp and car weight I should be able to go high 10's.
