Question

Hi,

If you dont know my car hit a house and now i have to replace the radiator support, radiator, radiator fan, RH front apron, fender, headlight assembly, bumper, lower valance.

My questions lies in when i take the radiator support off do i need to brace anything to prevent the body from twisting or getting bent. I have an export brace and monte carlo bar if those matter.

Any advice is appreciated,

Kevin

Re: Question

What did the house do, sleep with your mustang's GF?

Seriously, someone should chime in and be able to answer with more experience. I know all the stangs are unibodies and should not suffer any strange twisting or bending when disassembling one unless there is massive rust in the body itself. I would think the front end should be able to be removed no problem unless the car is not sitting level.

Re: Question

well i didnt hit it, i was actually in a different state. im down in PA at school and my best friend works at a shop and was bringing to home for the weekend and when he was in his driveway pulling it into the garage, the throttle went to the floor and the car took off, it veered to the left went through a shrub(which was totally up rooted) and hit the house. The only damage it did to the house was 2 cracked pieces of siding. The car took the worst of it...

It wasnt his fault the throttle cable is stretched and the linkage needs adjustment. the only bad thing is the car didnt have collision and even if it did my insurance would of went up like crazy if i made a claim. Either way its on its way to being fixed and after its back together i need to decide what color i want it as im taking the boss stripes off and for now wont put any back on. Im kinda partial to competition orange, even though i would like to figure out what color it was when it was brand new.

Re: Question

Where is the Data plate if it still on my car, which i doubt because a BS bodyshop around here did a quick paint job before i bought the car and it looks like they painted over all the stickers and even managed to hide the vin on the fender.

All i want to find out is what color it was when it was new off the showroom floor. All i have is the VIN #.

Re: Question

Go to Ford and get the paint mix. I'm 99 percent sure that they can mix it up for you.

Re: Question

here is an update, this was all accomplished over this past weekend, would of had it all done if it werent for the rain. Now all it needs is paint and someone who can make the body lines match up better. The color it is getting painted is Raven Black, and im going back to the hood scoop with the turn signals in it.
