I'm new here. Can anyone help?
I have a 1966 Mustang
that runs crappy now. It smokes from the exhaust and both valve cover breathers. I pulled the plugs and some are oil fouled while 3 are nice and brown and clean.
Do i need rings or could this be oil leaking down the valve stem seals?
I only have 3,000 miles on the new heads, summit cam, edelbrock, holley, headers, flowmasters, pertronix, accel flamethrower. Top end was done professionally and it did great burnouts at first. Now sputters and smokes and backfires. I didnt do rings because there was no ridge on the top of the cylinders when I pulled the heads...you could still see the hone marks.
A fresh tune up didnt help anything.
