Help

Ok I need some help here I am looking at buying a 66 GT coupe with vinyl top. The current owner wants $7600 the car is in great shape but instead of having the stock 289 it has a 302 in it. Is this too much for this year? This will be my first time purchasing a classic car.

Re: Help

It's pretty good looking. Not sure if it's worth over $7k but really good looking. It's worth whatever you will pay for it though.

Re: Help

if you do not know much about classics I HIGHLY recommend you hire a professional (possible someone that restores cars and does it correctly. They can tell you the good/the bad/the rest of the info on the car and they know what to look for and what its going to cost to fix issues. You dont want to buy someone elses trouble.

I wouldn't worry about it getting away. It was a mix of GT and nonGT parts. I doubt it was an original GT. It was still a decent price for a coupe.
